Apps Associates Marks 10-Year Anniversary at the Museum of Science, Boston

Apps Associates recently celebrated its 10th anniversary at the Museum of Science- Boston, marking the start of a year-long program of celebration and commemoration. The event was attended by Apps Associates clients and employees, each of whom have contributed and strengthened the growth of the organization across the globe.

Following the opening presentation, Professor Deepak Malhotra, a leading authority on negotiation strategy and a Harvard Business School faculty member, delivered a fascinating keynote titled "Wicked Negotiations." Professor Malhotra sprinkled both doses of humor and historical lessons to illustrate key negotiation principles. His formidable command over the subject matter; plus insightful references, to the end of World War I and how country boundaries were determined, NHL hockey league negotiations and the Cuban missile crisis, captivated the audience's attention. Some key takeaways from the session:

  • The greatest source of power in a negotiation is the ability to create value for the other party
  • Negotiators that focus too much on what will happen if there is no deal will typically get worse outcomes
  • Always seek to understand the other parties' perspective, constraints and interests before entering in a negotiation

Another distinguished speaker for the event was Mr. Rob Sarkis, Chief information Officer of Pampered Chef. In his presentation, "Empowering Your Business with Mobile and Web," Sarkis emphasized the need to create fit-to-purpose products and solutions to stay ahead of the competition.

Apps Associates has expanded it’s global footprint into the Middle East region by registering within the Sultanate of Oman as a limited liability company under the name of Apps Associates Oman LLC. With the formation of this entity under the majority ownership of Apps Associates LLC (USA), Apps Associates continues to build towards the future and to grow. “Global expansion is critical to increasing the value and perception of Apps Associates in the marketplace and must remain a core component of our overall strategy”, noted Bill Saltys. “We have been actively investigating for over one year and are excited about the potential within the Middle East and Africa, especially with the proximity to India and our Hyderabad Global Development Center. Apps Associates Raises 2011 Donation Level With "Spin to Win For Charity" Promotion

Under the AppsCares™ program, Apps Associates created the "Spin to Win for Charity" promotion in which attendees at conferences and tradeshows such as OpenWorld and NEOAUG would spin a prize wheel to land on donation award amounts. The show attendee would then select from a list of eligible charities and Apps Associates would donate the winning amount to the chosen charity. Oracle E-Business Suite Release12 has now been in the market for quite some time. However, there are many questions on the architecture and features, and what makes it different from 11i.
